# Summer MCP Server > Summer's MCP server lets AI agents and assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, and any MCP-compatible client) query a user's marketing data, build and publish reports from it, and share them. - Server URL: https://fwd.summer.io/mcp (Streamable HTTP) - Authentication: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE via https://auth2.summer.io; Dynamic Client Registration supported; scopes summer.read, summer.write - Human docs: https://fwd.summer.io/mcp-docs - Full reference: https://fwd.summer.io/llms-full.txt Typical flow: list_projects -> activate_project_marts(project_id) -> get_marts_schema / query_marts(mart_session_id, sql) -> activate_project_report -> add_query -> show_report -> publish_report. Start with get_docs(topic="getting-started"). ## Account & organization Who you are signed in as, what you can reach, and who is invited to join your organization. - get_user_info: Get the authenticated user's profile, organizations, and projects. - list_org_invites: List the invites sent for an organization, including used ones. - invite_to_org: Invite a person by email to join an organization in a role. - revoke_org_invite: Revoke a pending organization invite so it can no longer be accepted. ## Projects & marts Find a project, activate its marts (the managed, query-ready datasets Summer builds from your connected platforms), then explore and query them with SQL. - list_projects: List your projects and the marts (connector datasets) each one has. - activate_project_marts: Activate a project's managed marts and return a mart session id. - get_marts_schema: List the active project's mart schemas, tables, and columns. - query_marts: Run a SQL query against the active project's marts. - sample_marts_table: Return a deterministic 50-row reservoir sample of a mart table. - summarize_marts_table: Return a column-level statistical summary of a table. ## Reports Build a report of prose, tables, charts, and metrics backed by live queries; render it inline in your chat, then publish it. - list_reports: List a project's reports (published and unpublished). - activate_project_report: Start (or resume) a report builder session for the active project. - add_text: Append a prose block (Markdown) to the report builder session. - add_query: Append a data block (table, chart, or metric) backed by a SQL query. - add_metric_row: Append a horizontal row of 2-3 single-number metrics (a KPI strip). - add_charts: Append a batch of 2-4 charts (bar/line/area), rendered stacked full-width. - list_blocks: List the session's full content — the title and every block, in order. - remove_block: Remove a block from the report builder session by id. - replace_block: Replace a block in place, keeping its position and block id. - show_report: Render a report inline in your chat as an interactive view: tables, charts, and metrics drawn from live data, with every cited figure verifiable against the report's data. - publish_report: Publish the report builder session as a live report. - unpublish_report: Take a published report offline (visibility only; content is unchanged). ## Report parameters Named, typed values report SQL references as $name, which report viewers can change to re-run a report. - list_project_params: List a project's report parameters (the $name values report SQL can use). - create_project_param: Create a report parameter that the project's report SQL can reference as $name. - update_project_param: Change a report parameter's name, type, label, or default value. - delete_project_param: Delete a report parameter. Confirm with the user first. ## Sharing Give people outside your organization view access to a project's published reports. - share_project: Share a project so people outside the org can see its published reports. - list_project_shares: See who a project is already shared with (emails and whole domains). - unshare_project: Revoke outside view access that share_project granted. ## Database connections & files Connect your own database to a project, browse its schema, and query it or the files uploaded to the project with SQL. - setup_db_connection: Guide a user through setting up a new database connection securely. - list_db_connections: List the custom database connections in a project. - get_db_connection: Get one database connection, e.g. to check whether setup has finished. - browse_schema: Returns table/column metadata for a database connection in a Summer project. - query_db_connection: Run a read-only SQL query against a custom database connection. - list_project_files: List the files uploaded to a project, with their inferred schemas. - query_project_file: Run a read-only SQL query against an uploaded file. ## Documentation Guides written for agents: a getting-started tour, SQL help, report building, and a reference for every connector's marts. - list_docs: List the available documentation topics. - get_docs: Fetch Forward API documentation by topic.
